Michele Southworth is a licensed marriage and family therapist and a divorce mediator, with more than 30 years’ experience. She is trained in EMDR, a form of therapy that is helpful in reprocessing difficult memories and emotions. Ms. Southworth is also the Curriculum Manager and faculty of CFR’s Post Graduate Certificate Program in Marriage and Family Therapy, which is Council’s training program for Masters level therapists and clergy seeking advanced skills and/or licensure in marriage and family therapy.
A former family law lawyer, she feels fortunate to have found a professional niche that is so personally satisfying and meaningful, and she is honored to collaborate with clients for the purpose of improving their lives. She seeks to help clients by supporting them in clarifying their goals for therapy, and creating a safe space in which to understand and accept themselves as they are, while working towards growth and change. She brings warmth, openness and humor to her therapeutic work.
She specializes in working with motivated, thoughtful people who feel stuck in some important aspect of their lives and want to find a way forward that is true to who they are, and to the values that matter to them. Her clinical practice encompasses a range of issues, including personal growth, development of self, identity and resilience, gender-role and power conflicts, and life transitions including bereavement, loss, grief and divorce-related issues. Ms. Southworth also has an aptitude for and interest in working with people in the arts and other creative fields.
When working with divorcing and divorced families, she uniquely combines her clinical and legal training to serve as therapist, co-parenting counselor, or mediator.

The phenomenon of divorce has a large presence in modern-day America. Priscilla Singleton is the Director of Clinical Standards at Council for Relationships. Priscilla is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), a clinical member of AAMFT, and an AAMFT-approved supervisor. She received her MSW from Temple University in 1982 and completed her post-graduate marriage and family therapy training at Council for Relationships in 1989. Priscilla has completed additional training and certifications in EMDR, Sandtray therapy, and co-parent counseling/parent coordination. Priscilla has been in practice for over twenty-five years. Before coming to the Council in 1994, Priscilla worked with children, youth, and families in the child welfare system, with women in a crime victim center, with families of children with developmental differences, and with individuals and families in her private practice. Her areas of special interests are separating and divorcing families, adoption, and promotion of child and adolescent connection in their families.
