Learning Objectives

  • Participants will be able to explain "erotic resilience" as applied to sex and relationship therapy.
  • Participants will be able to discuss the concept of "queering" in the therapeutic context.
  • Participants will be able to distinguish between "sexual identity" and "sexual subjectivity" as related to sexual self as process.
  • Participants will be able to discuss how the application of Subject-Object Theory and increasing levels of complex consciousness (e.g., socialized mind, self-authoring mind, self-transforming mind) support a therapeutic model of developmental sexual complexity.
