Group therapy is an effective mode of treatment for children and adolescents, either alone or as an adjunct to individual or family therapy. Grounded in a trauma-informed perspective, participants will learn about launching, structuring and creating materials for an effective group for children or adolescents. The developmental tasks of children at different ages will be reviewed, along with how to structure and facilitate group interaction at these different stages. Leadership and co-facilitation skills for group engagement will be presented. Group work with children and adolescents can activate different aspects of the self of the therapist.
